Typhoo UniversiTEA Challenge Press Release

Merseyside based Typhoo Tea Ltd have teamed up with Liverpool John
Moores University for an exclusive social media project. Students from the
Liverpool Screen School were given the opportunity to create online videos for
the tea company’s digital marketing campaign as part of the Typhoo
UniversiTEA Challenge.

The challenge, which launched in January, encouraged students to submit
pitches for social video that would help the multi-national company reach a
new, younger audience. Out of all the entrants, five finalists were selected to
turn their pitches into videos that would be screened across Typhoo’s social
media channels.

The five finalist videos are now live on Typhoo’s “00” Tube channel and
Facebook Page where fans can vote for their favourite. The winners will be
announced at a screening at the Liverpool Screen School and will receive a
cash prize of £500.

Typhoo’s CEO Keith Packer says he’s pleased they could involve the local
university in the project. “It’s a great opportunity for Typhoo to work with LJMU
and showcase some of the fresh talent in the area.”

Notes to Editors

Typhoo Tea was founded in 1903 and moved to Moreton in Wirral in 1978.
Courses at the Liverpool Screen School include: Film Studies, Creative
Writing, Drama, Media Professional Studies, iMedia and Journalism.

The four finalists were given a small budget to create the videos.

There will be a screening of the videos at the Liverpool Screen School the
w/c 26th March. Date and time TBC.

The Challenge is a collaboration between Typhoo Tea Ltd, Liverpool John
Moores University and Digital Polish Ltd.

The videos will be available via Typhoo’s social media channels from 19th
