Everyone wants to be a rebel, at least with Rage Against The Machine you can pretend. March forward with your fist in the air, and maybe even keep your blinds open so people outside can see you being hardcore. Fuck yeah!
The Battle Of Los Angeles is the heavy dose of rap metal needed to truly awaken the soul. Political, relevant though not quite as raw and empowering as their debut. But Rage doing their thing is still worth screaming about, imagine if we had stuff like this doing the rounds today? ‘Guerrilla Radio’ makes me want to jump around shaking my head like a man possessed by Pazuzu and ‘Sleep Now In The Fire’, ‘Testify’, ‘Ashes In The Fall’ and ‘Born Of A Broken Man’ never fail to get the blood boiling and the mind ready for a revolt. The rest doesn’t really stand out in quite the same way, but they make for heavy rebel background music. It’s those epic wah synth sounding noises they like to do in solos which makes you feel right at home.
