Ron Burgundy is the man. He brings the news to everyone in San Diego and he does it with charm and devilishly good looks. If we had a reporter like Ron Burgundy on the BBC, I’d be on it 24/7. It’s the hair that does it.

Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy is an incredibly stupid story about the anchorman Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) who tries to seduce his new colleague Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) and keep giving out the news. But one tragic day leaves Ron unable to give the news, and with Veronica taking control, he doesn’t take it nicely. War is waged between the two and Ron’s anchorman days are at stake! Is the general gist, but all you need to be ready for is a lot of ridiculous happenings and gags. Which is great.

Anchorman is a stupid film, with random segments and comments stuffed into each scene, but it’s the kind of stupid which works Jokes rarely fall flat and even if they do, the next one will be right around the corner as the film never sits still. Dogs will be kicked, and the lovable Brick (Steve Carell) will say something wonderfully retarded. This is a film to solve bad moods and have you strutting around the house in a nice new suit. Just me?
